The Hunt Museum

The Hunt Museum holds works by Picasso, Renoir, and Yeats among a broader collection of over 2000 ancient artefacts and modern ethnographic treasures including historical items such as the O’Dea Mitre.

Located in the finest example of 18th Century Palladian Architecture in Limerick, the Hunt Collection represents over 2,000 original works of Art and Antiquity of national and global importance.

This is a special opportunity to explore the personal collection of John and Gertrude Hunt who donated the pieces to the people of Ireland. Now beautifully displayed in this grand Georgian Museum, marvel at this wonderful eclectic mix of pieces that were individually selected based on quality of design, craftsmanship and artistic merit. Learn the history of the Hunt Family and hear stories of how they chose the individual pieces which range from the Stone Age right up to the Modern Day. Standout items from the collection include works by Picasso, Renoir, and Yeats. The museum garden overlooking the River Shannon is also a must-see featuring wooden and metal sculptures.
